Six months before the wedding is the time to start really looking after your hair. Condition it regularly and, even if you are growing it longer, have regular trims and conditioning treatments.
Try taking vitamin B – leading trichologists recommend it as particularly good for healthy hair and it’s helpful for stress too. If you are planning to have a perm, try to have it done about eight weeks before your wedding. Book an appointment for colour or highlights no more than a month before the day.
DON’T take risks. Avoid permanent colours if you’re not used to them. Highlights are a safer option, enhancing your natural colour
but not making a drastic colour change.
DON’T leave the final trim until just before the wedding, always have it cut about two or three weeks earlier, to give hair time to
soften.
DO experiment with different styles.
DO book a practice session with your stylist when you have finally made a decision.
DO book a final, extra practice session just before the wedding, or when you are having your final trim. This is the case even if you are
doing your own hair on the day and the stylist is just teaching you how.
DO practise – at least twice. If a friend is helping you, make sure she knows what you want. You want to find out before the wedding morning if your chosen style is not going to work.
